Driving home for Christmas and not seeing friends – we all hated this thought. But fortunately there is an alternative: Long walks outdoors. Here, in December 2020 in Baden-Württemberg, two persons only. And in the rain.
You could say it’s just some trees in a creek, but there is much more to this enchanted place north of Berlin. And it got around: On Sunday and with no possibility to see your friends other than outside, a lot of people took this beautiful and easy to reach hike in the forest near Borgsdorf.
It rained already when we left the house and we didn’t really want to leave the car because of the unkind weather. But when we did anyway the intense drizzle stopped and we had a fresh walk through the forrest and fields. After a while, it went from cloudy dark to night dark in no time and we were happy that a roasted lamb awaited us back in Berlin.
While the temperature is already down to 0°C some leaves still stick to their trees and the colors of autumn will soon fade to grey.
Autumn and sun. Don’t we have so much luck with the weather this time? Every weekend at least one beautiful day where you can see the sun shining through the leaves into the lake.
A small tour around our home lake and again birds and mushrooms everywhere. But also those marvelous artworks made by nature on the ground. Every time the type of trees changed on our walk, the color combination on the floor changed with them.
Finally succesful! So my new motto will be: Look for fly agarics and the others – the edible and delicious ones – will follow.
Unfortunately our plan of having a big mushroom meal in the evening didn’t work out this day, but there were at least some very attractive not edible ones (and very few edibles).
It’s autumn and we are again in Altfriedland. The picturesque village shows its great potential during this season.
We hiked along river Löcknitz next to Erkner which is a great pleasure because the path is a small jungle-like bridge between the river and a lake.
