With home office, I’m siting inside my apartment most of the time and to not turn crazy and move my bones a bit I going outside for extended night walks. Sometimes with friends, sometimes on my own. God, I wish to have a dog!

We walked around Ihlandsee on a bright sunny day in June and I almost forgot to post those photos which show nature in full bloom.

There is a little frog hidden in the pictures. Who’s gonna find it?

Today we just had a little lazy walk through Wedding and Mitte. I wore my linen slippers despite heavy cloudiness, because I wanted to, and of course it started raining and I had wet feet again. We had a little meal in a turkish restaurant on Badstrasse, we met some friends who had a stand on the flee market at Mauerpark and we went to the flee market on Arkona Platz to order a stand for November (!).
Sitting behind the stand at Mauerpark for a while and chatting with my friend Eddi – who is going to do “Interail for Seniors” through some eastern bloc countries – I looked up to some potential clients and saw a familiar face in front of me but this was so unlikely that I didn’t believe it at first. Standing there was Amy and her husband Jean-Paul from Luxemburg which I met on the Camino de Santiago in 2015. She is here for Fashion Week. // OMG. Fashion Week again. That is why there are so many strangely dressed people in town! // Next time when you’re in town I’ll have more time for you guys. Promised!
Look at those plants! Berlin is so green. The little park without a name behind my house is a complete wilderness now. There a millions of flowers, trees and berries growing this time of the year. I wonder if I should harvest some blackberries soon?
Natural an diverse forests, stunning lake views,  a picturesque village, a real sandy beach at Bernsteinsee and at the end of your hike you can have a coffee sitting in the sun at wonderful wake and camp headquarters an admire the wakeboarders. Or maybe do it yourself?
Location: Wake-and-Camp am Ruhlesee near Sophienstädt – small path between Ruhlesee and Kiessee – along Blauer See – along the northern shore of Eiserbuder See – along the western shore of Bukowsee – Sophienstädt – along the western shore of Bernsteinsee (wrongly named Kiessee on the map) – back to Wake-and-Camp / Distance: 12,5 km / from city center: 50 km / north / Weather: 20 °C, rainy and cloudy  / Camera: Nikon D90, 18-200 mm lens
Since you cannot visit Teufelsberg (Devils’ Mountain) without those boring and expensive guides anymore I haven’t been there. In fact, Grunewald is still a green beauty above all. The cake at Ökowerk is fantastic and we took a short swim in the very cold and refreshing Teufelssee (Devils’ Lake) together with – apparently – the rest of Berlin 🙂
Location: Teufelsseechaussee – Drachenberg – around Teufelsberg – Teufelssee and back on the Teufelsseechaussee / Distance: 6 km / Weather: 27 °C, sunny / Camera: iPhone 6
Location: Spitzmühle – western shore of Fängersee – Friedrich-Schiller-Höhe – eastern shore of Straussee – back to Fängersee – Spitzmühle  / Distance: 10 km / from city center:
37,5 km/south east / Weather: 16 °C, sunny / Camera: Nikon D90, 55-300mm lens
Today during all my hike, I saw no human being but I heard millions of birds singing, squeaking and ranting. I think they are all – like me – waiting and knowing that spring will soon arrive.

At Wehrmühle, after I saw this magnificent and surprising piece of architecture, I met an  old lady who told me that she isn’t a fan of the new building at all. Her mother and 7 more families lived there once and she misses the times when there was plenty of live (as the new owner is only here for very little time during the year), flowers in the garden and when the waste collection service came up to her house because today she has to bring her trash can 400m to the entry of the settlement. More pictures of the house
