As we faced really hot weather again and our skin was still embarrassed from our yesterdays walk, we decided to chose a trail with at least partly more shade and walked from Over Haddon along River Lathkill until we crossed the Limestone Way which nearly led us back to where we came from. We even had a bath in the icy river.

Location: Over Haddon – along River Lathkill heading West – Along Limestone Way heading East – along River Bradford – Youlgrave – Alport – along River Lathkill heading North – back to Over Haddon / Distance: 14  km / Climb: 280 m / Weather: 28 °C, sunny / Camera: Olympus Pen F, iPhone X
What lovely countryside! Looks like a gorgeous and serene place to walk and hike.

As we came from 2 month heat in Berlin, I was really hoping for some clouds …. ;-). But of course: This was a great experience exactly like it was!

I think you need to enjoy the sun whenever you can get it! Winter and grey days seem to roll around very quickly each year. Take care, Mel

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! And a hat! Never leave home without them! 😉

Lathkill Dale really is a beautiful area. Good to see the river still flowing healthily, at a time when smaller streams are at risk of drying out.

It seamed definitively to be very healthy! The water is clear and there are a lot of plants and animals.
