When hiking with poles trough the rain it’s better to protect your
hands from hypothermia. I wear thin fleece gloves and rain mitts additionally.
I found this pattern originating from the middle ages while searching for something with practically no seams. Because less seams = less possibilities for water to enter (and *bonus* shorter sewing time).
1 x 65x29cm of water resistant and light material, I took Ripstop-Nylon 65g/m
2 x 18cm thick elastic edge binding (red)
2 x 19cm thick elastic edge binding (red)
1 x seam seal
(my hands: 19 cm length and 22 cm circumference including thumb)
weight: 16g/pair (0,56 oz)
On my first pattern – as you can see on the photos – the thumb is rather tight (5cm), so I changed the pattern for a larger one (6,5 cm).
